![]() Exceptional Arabian horse breeding based on European Breeding Principles ! The Horses of CR Arabians, Inc.
Dear Russian Arabian Enthusiasts, Our Russian Arabian horse breeding program started many years ago with the purchase of a single great mare, Mistress Mine (*El Kasaka x Gay Mist by *Gay Polka). Mistress Mine ultimately became the grand dam of our senior stallion, CR Kiyev (*Muscat x CR Angel Mist by Pyatigorsk). During Kiyev's early years, his great grand dam also came to CR Arabians to live out her final years. Her name was Gay Mist (*Gay Polka x Royal Landa by *Sun Royal). We currently breed both straight Russian and Russian related crosses. A successful breeding consists of several “planned phases.” Each phase must weigh the “pros and cons” of each particular strain; in that the blending of those two particular horses will net what you hope to produce. You should be able to picture the end result of that particular mating. Our next step was researching successful Russian crosses, and develop a breeding program that would consistently produce outstanding individuals. The Kale's Russian Arabian breeding program kept cropping up in our minds as one of the most successful breeding programs in the world. Moreover, Howard Kale Jr.'s theories matched our own. The horses of CR Arabians are raised in the “age-old” tradition of the European Breeding Principles developed by the State Studs of Russia and Poland. The emphasis of our breeding program is to breed horses with sound minds, strong and correct structure, and beauty. We are a natural breeding farm. We strive to have a quiet and low-impact environment with all the horses running in herds on open pasture. The tools to the breeder are the present living individuals of the breed, combined with knowledge of past individuals to better evaluate and understand current generations. The horses of the past make up the conformation and character of todays' Russian Arabian. Many of today's Russian Arabians have not been bred to the excess and still have many great horses close up in their pedigree. It is important to continue breeding the Russian Arabian Horse in this slow manner as they grow and mature slowly. The true impact of our breeding program will not fully be recognized or appreciated until long after we, the breeders, and our horses are gone. With the guidance of Howard Kale Jr., CR Arabians purchased a herd of mares that were specifically suited to breeding with CR Kiyev. The resulting foals are excellent. Another planned phase of our breeding program was the addition of the straight Russian stallion, Njkon (*Muscat x *Najada by Aswan). Njkon is a 1987 bay stallion who is owned by Howard Kale Jr. Njkon lives at the CR Arabian farm in Texas and is a structurally correct horse with the beauty of Aswan. Njkon is proving to be very capable sire and is siring some truly exceptional individuals. Our junior stallions are CR Muscapri Legacy (CR Kiyev x Muscapri by *Muscat), and CR Kojacque (CR Kiyev x CR Fulluv Magique by Enchanter Magic FHP) Legacy is a 2000 chestnut colt currently in Halter and Western Pleasure training. Kojacque is a 2002 bay colt and is currently in reining training. All the colts are a Russian blend that are a result of the perfect “planned phase.” Many of our great mares are available for lease or purchase as are their foals available for purchase. Several of CR Kiyev's progeny are under saddle now and also available for purchase. Of course, you may visit the farm and pick out your next superstar before their adventures of going under saddle and save yourself some money. Njkon's foals are not under saddle yet but you may purchase a youngster for yourself. We feel it is a blessing to be able to participate in the genetic guardianship and husbandry of the Russian Arabian Horse. To search for and bring home those great horses that have survived the breeding fads, the rise and fall of various governments, is a responsibility of serious horsemen. We invite your inquiries. Please feel free to call for an appointment to meet us, CR Kiyev, Njkon, and the rest of the herd and broodmare band at our Texas or Idaho location.
